In other words, I just celebrated my 37th birthday. I am now officially in my "late 30s". One of my previous posts was all about getting older, so I refuse to be depressed about this birthday. After all, a birthday is just another 365 days around the sun. Enjoy the trip. And that's exactly what I've done.
Thursday was my birthday, December 2. I worked all day, but I still had fun. I got tons of Facebook messages, texts, emails, phone calls, and IMs from family and friends wishing me a happy birthday. Each one made me smile. It's nice to know that someone is thinking of you, especially on your birthday. I took today (Friday) off and spent the day shopping at the new outlet mall in Leeds, AL. I think The Shops of Grand River might be my new favorite mall...in Alabama anyway. Then I took the kids to Hokkaido for a little Japanese food. They tried sushi for the first time and loved it. Both can't wait to go back and eat there again. Tomorrow we're going to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. All in all, that's a pretty good birthday celebration, wouldn't you say? Not exactly how I would have celebrated in my younger days but fun nonetheless.
I think I'll make a habit of this...celebrating my birthday. Surviving another year is worth celebrating, I think. Here's to hoping that my 37th year of life is every bit as fabulous as my 36th was...more so even. Here's hoping your next year, whichever year it is, is fabulous too!
